Overview

Hiunchuli forms a massive south-facing wall together with Annapurna South. Its eastern face overlooks the Modi Khola and guards the entrance to the Annapurna Sanctuary. An American Peace Corps Expedition, via the southeast face, first climbed Hiunchuli in October 1971. The mountain is not technically difficult to climb but is vulnerable to rock falls, and route finding can be difficult as the avalanches swipe the old trail every season. Even though it offers major new route potentials, it has received little attention from mountaineers.

Tour Highlights

Spectacular Scenery: The Hiunchuli climb offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, lush forests, and charming villages. The stunning landscape makes the trek to the base camp and the climb itself an awe-inspiring experience.

Technical Challenge: Hiunchuli Peak is known for its technical challenges, making it an ideal choice for experienced mountaineers looking to test their skills. The climb involves steep and icy sections, requiring proficiency in various mountaineering techniques.

Acclimatization: The expedition includes gradual acclimatization to higher altitudes, which is essential for your safety and success in the climb. Acclimatization stops at various villages and base camps help you adapt to thinner air.

Cultural Immersion: As you trek to the base camp, you'll have the opportunity to interact with local communities and experience the culture of the Annapurna region. This includes exploring Gurung and Magar villages, tasting traditional cuisine, and learning about their way of life.

Base Camp Experience: The Hiunchuli Base Camp is where you'll prepare for the summit push. It's a unique experience, and you'll have a team of support staff to assist with setting up camps and ensuring your safety.

Summit Achievement: Reaching the summit of Hiunchuli Peak at 6441 meters is a significant accomplishment. The panoramic views from the summit are stunning and make all the effort worthwhile.

Return to Civilization: After your climb, you'll return to the vibrant city of Pokhara, where you can relax and celebrate your success. This contrast between the remote mountains and a bustling city adds depth to your adventure.

Safe and Guided Expedition: It's crucial to undertake this expedition with a reputable trekking agency and experienced guides who prioritize safety and have the knowledge to navigate the challenging terrain.

Extra Info

    Travel insurance

Travel Insurance is mandatory for all customers who looking to travel in Nepal with the Mountain Hiking & Trekking .The Travel Insurance must cover both the evacuation and medical cost

There are many insurance companies that offer travel insurance services over the internet. You can choose from a wide variety of insurance companies as per your convenience. Especially when it comes to trekking in Nepal, there is always a narrow chance of minor health issues, injuries and most importantly – altitude sickness.

It is essential that you prefer an insurance rule that covers the cost of the helicopter rescue from the mountains in case of main accidents and delicate mountain sickness (AMS). through such great cases of an emergency evacuation, a helicopter service is the only way out of the mountains. This includes a rescue team for both – ground evacuation and rescue. Which is why we need your travel insurances to cover the cost of helicopter services and evacuation from the Himalayas

It is forever recovered to be safe than apologetic.

Before you plan your trip with Mountain Hiking & Trekking do make sure that your travel insurance covers all the costs mentioned above from a reliable company.

Island Peak expedition in Nepal with Mountain Hiking & trekking team Apr 2019 • Friends This is my third out of four times in Nepal that I’ve engaged Mountain Hiking and Trekking services. Gokyo (Chola Pass), Everest Basecamp and Imja Tse (Island Peak). The success of all the treks were made possible by the professional service from their awesome trekking and climbing Sherpas and Tandi himself which were all very friendly and we became mates. They really took good care of you not only in Kathmandu but whilst on the mountain region which to me is very important due to the other factors, e.g. AMS etc. Their detailed and flexible arrangements made the trek enjoyable. I highly recommend Tandi from Mountain Hiking and Trekking if you intend to trek in Nepal. Thanks Tandi
