Taking a rest day in Dingboche is a crucial part of the acclimatization process when trekking to higher altitudes in the Everest region. Rest days are strategically placed to help your body adjust to the decreasing oxygen levels as you gain altitude, reducing the risk of altitude sickness and allowing you to have a safer and more enjoyable trek. Here's what you can do on your rest day in Dingboche:

Acclimatization Hike: Even on your rest day, it's a good idea to do a short acclimatization hike to a higher altitude and then return to sleep at a lower altitude. One popular acclimatization hike from Dingboche is a trip up to Nagarjun Hill, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. This helps your body adapt gradually to higher altitudes.

Explore Dingboche: Spend some time exploring the village of Dingboche. It's a picturesque village with stone-walled fields and amazing views of the surrounding peaks. You can visit the local bakery or small shops, interact with fellow trekkers, or simply relax and enjoy the mountain scenery.

Hydration and Nutrition: Use the rest day to ensure you're well-hydrated and properly nourished. Eating a balanced diet and staying hydrated help with acclimatization.

Rest and Relaxation: Since you've been trekking for a few days already, take this opportunity to rest and let your muscles recover. Enjoy some leisure time reading, writing in your journal, or simply gazing at the stunning views.

Altitude Awareness: Use the rest day to monitor how your body is responding to the altitude. Be mindful of any symptoms of altitude sickness, such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, or fatigue. If you experience severe symptoms, it's important to descend to a lower altitude.

Plan Ahead: Use this time to review your trekking plan for the upcoming days. Check the weather forecast, ensure you have the necessary permits and gear, and mentally prepare for the challenges ahead.

Socialize: Rest days are great for getting to know other trekkers. Share your experiences, tips, and stories with fellow adventurers from around the world.

    Travel insurance

Travel Insurance is mandatory for all customers who looking to travel in Nepal with the Mountain Hiking & Trekking .The Travel Insurance must cover both the evacuation and medical cost.

There are many insurance companies that offer travel insurance services over the internet. You can choose from a wide variety of insurance companies as per your convenience. Especially when it comes to trekking in Nepal, there is always a narrow chance of minor health issues, injuries and most importantly – altitude sickness.

It is essential that you prefer an insurance rule that covers the cost of the helicopter rescue from the mountains in case of main accidents and delicate mountain sickness (AMS). through such great cases of an emergency evacuation, a helicopter service is the only way out of the mountains. This includes a rescue team for both – ground evacuation and rescue. Which is why we need your travel insurances to cover the cost of helicopter services and evacuation from the Himalayas

It is forever recovered to be safe than apologetic.

Before you plan your trip with Mountain Hiking & Trekking do make sure that your travel insurance covers all the costs mentioned above from a reliable company.

Warm and friendly welcome to Nepal & incredible adventures - thank you!! Apr 2019 • Friends I have used Mountain Hiking and Trekking twice so far. Each time I come back to Nepal I fall in love with it even more! And I know this is in huge part thanks to Tandi and his amazing team. I've done two treks with them (one to Everest Basecamp, which I plan to do again with Tandi someday soon, another was in midlands Kathmandu, Chesopani - which was beautiful and just the type of trek we were looking for). I have my eyes set on a few more trekking adventures with Mountain Hiking and Trekking in Nepal. They take such good care of us each time, welcoming smiles, all details arranged and a lot of time and attention before the trip to make sure we are happy with the itinerary and plans. The guides are so knowledgeable and easy to become friends with. I highly recommend Tandi for his professionalism and for his human and funny side too! This is a real gem of a company!
