The shortest recommended Tibet tour; this shows you the major landmarks and points of interest in and around Lhasa. You take the spectacular flight from Kathmandu over Mt. Everest & the Himalaya to Lhasa. The next three days are spent exploring the shrines and landmarks of the Holy City and monasteries in the vicinity. The 17th century Potala dominates Lhasa and is now a museum housing priceless treasures. You will find the Tibetan spirit alive and well at the pilgrimage circuit of Barkhor around the Jokhang, the holiest of Tibetan shrines. The quantity of offerings at Norbu
Lingka, the summer palace of the Dalai Lamas, bears testimonial to the powerful belief of the Tibetan people in their religious and spiritual leader. You visit Sera and Drepung, two of the four great monasteries of the Gelugpa (Yellow hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism, that flourished until recently; small numbers of monks now live in them. This is a superb introduction to the religious and cultural heritage of Tibet.
Day 1 Arrival and acclimatization
Arrive at Lhasa train station or airport, your guide and driver will pick you up there in person with a warm Tibetan style welcome ceremony by presenting you Khata and afterwards transfer you to the hotel, suggest you stay at hotel to have good rest for better acclimatization.

Day 2 Sightseeing in Lhasa
In the morning, visit Lhasa's landmark-Potala Palace, in which myriad chapels, audience halls, Buddhist frescoes, Thangkas, combinations of Mandela, figures of the Buddha stored. In the afternoon, visit the Johkang Temple, the center of Tibetan Buddhism, built during Songtsen Gonpo's reign by princess Wencheng of the Tang dynasty, 647 A.D. After the Johkang Temple, we will start a circular pilgrim route along Barkhor Street where you can purchase traditional Tibetan and Nepalese artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, music instrument, Thangkas, and etc.

Day 3 Lhasa-Namtso Lake

In the morning, we drive north towards the Namtso Lake which is regard as the Sky Lake among Tibetan. Namtso Lake is also the highest big lake in the world with as altitude of 4718 meters. The deep blue lake water makes the lake looks like part of the sky, and the perennial snow-capped Nyenqing Tangula Mountains with peak over 7000 meters towering above the lake to the south, besides you could also see vast Namtso grassland with nomadic families and yaks dotted on. And also, the sunset and sunrise over the lake are definitely two highlights of this Sky Lake tour, but it depends on weather condition very much.

Day 4 Namtso Lake-Lhasa-Sera Monastery
in the morning, after appreciating the breathtaking sunrise over the lake, we will drive back to Lhasa. In the afternoon, you will have a chance to watch the famous scripture debating among monks at Sera Monastery which is one of three main Gelug monasteries in Lhasa.

Day 5 Departure transfer
Schedule:Your guide and driver will transfer you to the airport or train station, tour ends.

TRAVEL INFORMATION ON TIBET

Most importantly, all travellers travelling in TIBET are kindly requested to bear in mind that TIBET being extremely remote and isolated by the most formidable Himalayan ranges, remains still one of the most captivating but least developed parts in the world. With its very short history of tourism (just about 8 years), the facilities for tourists although being upgraded are still at basic and limited scale. So, the visitors are requested not to have high expectation in terms of facilities in TIBET. However, we will always put all our effort to make your journey as pleasant as possible.

Besides, the road between TIBET & NEPAL is not up to the standard. It is rough, bumpy and full of bends. Particularly, during monsoon (June - August), it can be temporarily obstructed by landslides and erosion. So, a bit sporty wears and shoes are much advised facilitation the travellers to walk over the landslides (specially in the NEPAL portion)

OVERCOMING ALTITUDE PROBLEM

Travelling in Tibet is an adventure involving high altitude and could be strenuous. So far, most visitors have only minor effects from the altitude. However, we advise specially the guests with known heart or lungs or blood diseases to consult their doctor before travelling. Mild headache, fever, loss of appetite or stomach disorder can take place before acclimatisation.

Our advice: Drink 4 ltr. of water a day, don\'t exhaust yourself so much and breathe deep and take rest more than usual.
